There is no locked version, it is sold unlocked.

This means that if your carrier has a SIM card that you can take out, you can just pop it in. However, this phone will cost you over $500 if you do it that way. The cheapest option is to get a contract with T-Mobile, the phone is $179 and I am not sure about a 2-year agreement.

Unlocked phones allow you to do basically whatever you want with them, and also use any phone carrier you choose (for a hefty price).

the $80 plan includes 500 talk minutes, unlimited nights n weekends, unlimited tmobile to tmobile, unlimited sms, mms, and unlimted web data! i dont think you can choose another seeing as how you can only order through google for now.
