How to Convert DVD and Video to Blackberry Storm

First, you should know what video format is BlackBerry Storm supports.
Because DVD has CSS copyright protection, we need a program to rip DVD and convert video for BlackBerry Storm. The tool we use is BlackBerry Converter Suite, it includes two programs: DVD to BlackBerry Storm Converter and BlackBerry Storm Video Converter. This program not only supports BlackBerry Storm, but also BlackBerry Curve, BlackBerry Pearl and BlackBerry Bold series.
It supports audio and video format as follow:
Video: DVD, ISO, AVI, MPEG, MKV, MP4, MP4-AVC, M4V, WMV, MOV, 3GP, 3G2, MPG, FLV, ASF, VOB
Audio: WMA, M4A, MP3, AAC, AC3, WMA
For more info about this BlackBerry Converter Suite, you can refer to here.
And here is the free download link, about 10.9 MB.
Now, let's start the guide about converting DVD and Video to BlackBerry Storm.
Step1, Download and install the BlackBerry Storm converter, and then run it.
Step2. Load DVD into the software by clicking "Add DVD file". Here we can load three kinds of DVD's:
1. Real DVD, just put the DVD in your DVD drive and click load DVD, (you can find it by clicking the triangle on the right of 'load file' button.)
2. DVD ISO image, you can amount your ISO files in the daemon tools and then load the virtual DVD drive.
3. A DVD folder, sometimes you may store the DVD folder in your hard drive, it appears like "Video_TS" "Audio_TS" folders. You can load it by clicking the "load DVD folders" button.
Step3. Select Profile, Subtitle, Audio, output directory settingAfter you load DVD into the software, click the Profile drop-down list to select the proper format according to your BlackBerry Type, this guide is mainly about how to convert DVD and video to BlackBerry Storm, so we select the "BlackBerry Storm series(*.mp4)" profile.
Regular DVD movies usually have several subtitles such as English, French, German, etc. You can select one you prefer. You can also delete the subtitle by selecting "No Subtitle". Selecting Audio is the same. If you want to join all your DVD files into one video file, please select the option named "Merge into one file". For more advanced setting, you can open the setting panel by clicking "Setting".
Step4. Start the conversion
After all things done, you can click the "Start" to begin the conversion; it will take about 30 minutes for converting a regular two hours DVD movie. When the conversion finished, click "find target" to located the converted video on your computer, connect your BlackBerry Storm to computer, and then copy the video to your BlackBerry memory card, that's all. Then you can enjoy your favorites DVD movies on your BlackBerry Storm.
For converting video to BlackBerry Storm, you can click "Video to BlackBerry" to run the BlackBerry Movie Converter, the operation steps are similar to DVD to BlackBerry Converter, So I'm not repeat here. But I want to add some tips to the BlackBerry Movie Converter.
1. The Video to BlackBerry Converter supports batch conversion, so you can add multiple video files at one time.
2. The Video to BlackBerry Converter embeds powerful video editing functions, you can use it to cut video, trim video, crop video, and you can even add a watermark to the video.

Help answer the question
How many blackberry videos can I hold on a 2gb sd card?
I just got a 2gb sd card for my blackberry. I know I can save about 11k photos, since thats what I read up online, but what about videos? I can record videos with my blackberry curve, and they range about 3-6 mb of data. How many videos can I save then?

Firstly, the answer has nothing to do with the question that was asked. Secondly, you can have the data plan off the phone on a CDMA network as long as the provisioning features are on the account. You won't see EX, you would only see 1x instead of the usual 1XEV on a CDMA networks like Verizon. I should know coz I am a Tech Solutions Expert.
But more importantly, to answer the real question. Whats the difference between the internet on a cell and a BB device. HUGE Difference. Cell phone provider's give limited access to browser capabilities since most of the cell phone data plans are really cheap and are unlimited.
On a cell phone you can mainly browse to the links that the cell phone provider puts on their WAP Portal. Yes they would include the most basic functions such as checking your mail (hotmail, yahoo, gmail) and of course Facebook.
But 90% of the times when you try to browse to a normal site it wouldn't work. if it does awesome! If it doesn't then the provider doesn't support it.
On the other hand Blackberry's internet is a real internet on your phone. It is only limited by the website's inability to work properly on a data devices. However, 90% of the wesbites would work flawlessly.
I hope that kinda helped you out.
Cheers

Pin to Pin messages count like instant messages and texts, they are $.15cents per incoming/out messages. Yes you need a data plan to connect …then the messaging plan..yes they are definilty counted as sms.

2GB is 2048MB take away the formatting data that is on the card, its about 1800MB divide that by 6MB that is 300 videos without any pictures, songs, or ringtones on it.

Is the Blackberry you are looking to buy on the same network provider?
If it is you can request a new SIM card from your network provider and use the Blackberry as a normal phone. If you wanted to use the full features, such as internet, email, MMS you would need to update your contract to a Blackberry plan.
If the phone is not with the same network as your old phone you could get it unlocked and use it as a normal phone. If you are on a pay monthly contract you can contact your provider and request an NUC (Network Unlock Code) to do this, otherwise bring it to a phone shop to get unlocked – about £20. This will not give you the full features though (internet, email, MMS)

Internet is mandatory for blackberry's on Verizon's network for $30/month. If you have internet, you will be able to use e-mail, bbm, IM, and obviously internet. If you're looking for a skinnier phone go for the pearl. But I have the curve and I love it and its so easy to type on! The pearl is too once you get used to it though. And if you think the curves keys are too small, trust me they're fine. I'd say the best way to decide which one you want is go to the Verizon store (with working models) and mess around with both the curve and the pearl for a while and then decide which one you like more. Hope this helped!

There are two ways you can put music on the pearl. Either way you choose you will need to get a micro SD card, up to 4 gig, to hold the music. First way is through Desktop Manager that came with the phone. You will be adding media, not applications, so be sure you have selected media. It is done with a program called Roxio. The second way is to use WMP (Windows Media Player) and just sync the music to your phone. Actually I guess there are THREE ways. When you connect you Pearl to he computer you should be able to see it listed under MY COMPUTER when you open that folder. From there you can open the blackberry drive, find the media card, open the music file (or create on if the isn't one there already), and just drag and drop the files in there from your music folder.
Make sure you have the latest O.S. for your phone and the latest version of Desktop Manager. The O.S. differs for each service provider, and the should be able to tell you if you have the correct one.

The Blackberry, like every cell type of device polls. But it does not mean what you describe. The polling that takes place is a "keep-alive" type of data packet. The purpose is to let the network know where the phone is located physically on the network at any given time. As a user moves from place to place the cell towers keep a record of those movements so that when you want to make a call or send data of any type you will already be connected and ready go. This is how you get an "always on" connection.
The polling intervals vary by providers but they are generally constant IE every so many seconds or nanoseconds.
If the network receives a piece of data destine for your device, the network sends the data immediately after it arrives. The network does not wait for any length of time beyond the time it takes to forward the message. There can be delays caused by no or poor signal in which case the information is stored until the connection is restored and is then downloaded.

true that is a pain in the ass

The Case is magnetic and so is the device.
So when the BB is placed inside the pouch, it locks the screen and the keys so it prevents it from calling or emailing someone you don't want to.

If you're on a work BES system (work issued BlackBerry most likely with a BlackBerry server) then the BlackBerry follows the Exchange servers rules (aka if outlook redirects your email to a folder, then so does BlackBerry). However, there is an email option that you tell your BlackBerry not to show messages in other folders other than Inbox. If you are looking at your messages inbox, click the menu button, go to Options, one of them should say "hide filed messages", say yes. You can tell when something has been filed because it has multiple envelopes as an icon instead of one single envelope.
Now, if you bought your BlackBerry on your own and don't have a BES system, then a "BIS" email system (personal that comes with a BlackBerry if an individual purchases it from the carrier) it doesn't support folders or filing of any sort.
Hope that helps.

Tour is definitely the best one because the Dare is, well, and LG, the Storm is, well, you know, and the Curve is a great phone but totally last-gen.
