PDA Reviews

The Personal Digital Assistants better known as the PDA’s are new age electronic devices that store all your personal information and data and process it whenever you need it. These devices are not only about storing and retrieving data but they come with a variety of options for added functionality and convenience. PDA’s are equipped to give you more functionality than processing data and these new functionalities include handwriting recognition, networking, wireless communications, MP3 players, phone etc.

A PDA device can be classified by considering its functionality and the operating system or OS it uses. More features like the Memory and processing speed also help us to determine different types of PDA’s. But in general you will find the PDA’s classified as hand-held PDA’s and palm-sized PDA’s. The only major differences between these two being size, display and mode of data entry. The hand-held PDA’s, if compared to the palm-sized PDA’s, tend to be larger and heavier. They have larger liquid crystal displays (LCD) and use a miniature keyboard, usually in combination with touch-screen technology, for data entry. Whereas, the palm-sized PDA’s are smaller and lighter. They have smaller LCDs and rely on stylus/touch-screen technology and handwriting recognition programs for data entry.]

When you stat looking for a PDA device what you need is device with the most compatible operating system. The Windows Pocket PC OS is the most popular as it is compatible with most of the Desktops. The size does matter. The small sized PDA device is easier to carry and use. While considering a PDA device note that a choosing a big screen will ensure that no unnecessary strain is put on your eyes. The best PDA devices are loaded with the most useful applications and are Internet ready to keep you on move. RAM is an essential factor for choosing a PDA device. The one that have more RAM helps you to process data faster and run more applications. Some of the PDA devices come with memory slots so that you can insert a compact flash or secured memory stick to increase its storage capacity. The handheld PDA device is well equipped with networking capabilities. It helps you to get connected with LAN’s and other wireless networks.

A handheld PDA device is designed to give you the freedom of accessing important data without the geographical limitations, and with added convenience. So a PDA device can be used by those who have to spend most time out of the office and carrying a laptop every time is not a possibility. In fact in some occasions a PDA is more useful as it is handy and can be carried in the pocket. It is very useful with some of its interesting features like handwriting recognition software, which make using it even more convenient. A PDA helps you in a great deal to stay connected to the Internet and can function as a mobile phone as well. This combination is great for the people who need to communicate a lot and at the same time require data at their fingertips. It is also a great entertainment tool with music and video player, which makes it a great companion everywhere.

Help answer the question

What is the most recommended PDA for a nurse?
I am a nurse planning to purchase a PDA to aid me in my profession. I would like it to be compatible with various softwares designed to aid nurses at work (drug guide, nursing diagnoses, etc..). I also would like it to work efficiently and be hassle-free, since most nurses really hate to be wasting time resetting it over and over. And lastly, I hope it has a generous memory to put mp3 files for me to listen to during breaks. I have been wrecking my head browsing over the internet for advice, but I think a nurse or someone in the medical profession can give me the best advice. thanks in advance!
… oh, and it has to be the latest model available, if that's possible… :)

Actually there are many reviews. I have the 6315 which is quite similar to the 6515 . I believe that there is a Chinese ROM load for it. As far as ring tones. I guess you are correct. Mine has an extended battery and it lasts a good 10 days or about 3 days of heavy use.

imate or qtek (same model) is great. I have a qtek 9000 and it is more of a mini PC with a phone, then a pda phone. The only fag would be it's size or weight. But as an image is worth a million words, check it out for yourself. I am delighted with the phone, word, excel, all my pics on a sd card, a full length movie on the sd card, various references as dictionnaries or encyclopedias that I purchased via the net..etc etc..they even have a firewall and antivirus from the guys at f-secure…and yes I forgot, it has full bluetooth, wifi, internet explorer and muuch mooore….

    enjoy shopping..!!

I think CNET is a great source for electronics reviews. Most reviews come with a quick video synopsis.

The best place to look is cnet.com they do extensive reviews and sometimes even video reviews of phones. They even have customer reviews. You should also go to the store and actually try the phones…you want to make sure you can deal with the key pad. I have a centro and love it, but the keypad is REALLY small and takes some getting used to.
