He was not saying to ignore them, he was saying no to live your life based on other people’s thinking, Instead think out of the box and make a difference. It’s a must if you want to be someone like him. It’s a requirement if you wants to go that extra mile and achieve something BIG i mean really big

what does that have to do with anything. It’s appropriate *stigma* that he’s revolutionized the world. The best things you learn in life aren’t on paper. Never forget that.

Except for 'instant fame' (for example, Susan Boyle and similar), success requires a lot of time and effort. On average, it takes seven years to become an overnight success. Steve Jobs and his partner put in a lot of time building computers in the family garage (or equivalent). Bill Gates did as well.

They also had a few contacts (people they knew, or their families knew) that could give them a couple of breaks that the average person is not likely to have. That's not knocking their success, by the way; they made use of those contacts, as well as putting in the hard work to make their eventual companies successful. If you think they had it easy, look at their biographies.

Most people who graduate from college and university will never put in the effort of college drop-outs like Gates and Jobs. They will stagnate in jobs working for people already in power (or rich) and always be also-rans.

But don't take that to mean that you need to be a drop-out to succeed – most drop-outs will fare a lot more badly than graduates, and finish up in real dead-end jobs.

I understand that personal experiences are priceless. I was simply pointing out that learning is built on past learning. So it is with other people defining “truths” or dogmas…we should not ignore these just because we did not personally discover them. If electricity had not been discovered, (or if Jobs had ignored its discovery), he would not have been able to create the GUI or Mac.

I think the way he talks is very charismatic and inspirational. This motivates his employees to perform. Also, he is very passionate about his work and computing/media field, this enables him to quickly transfer creativity into a product..
