As of right now, you cannot forward text messages on the Iphone. It's one of my biggest complaints about the iphone, next to the fact you can't send or receive multi media messages.
Hopefully Apple will release an update that will allow us to do more with text messaging on the Iphone.

Here are a couple of links to look at:
http://gizmodo.com/5015052/iphone-3g-complete-coverage
and
http://apple.com/iphone
Basically this new version has faster internet, GPS navigation and ability to download(buy) applications such as games.
The Phone will cost $199 for 8GB $299 for 16GB. Then you will have to buy a voice plan for at least $39.99/month along with a Data plan for $30/month for unlimited web surfing, then a text messaging plan for $5-$15/month.
Expect to pay $80+/month for the full service plan. I would expect AT&T will let you drop the data plan and just use this as a sweet touch screen phone.
The phone has a very smooth UI which is fun to use, but lacks some basic features that might be very important for some. For example, it doesn't have picture messaging which is very important for some people but not for others. There might be an application that someone will create to accomplish this, but you will likely have to pay for it.
Take a look at the links above, there is a great deal of information out there. I will likely buy the 3G iPhone when it comes out, but might wait to see if there are some applications to buy that will fill in the missing pieces first.
Good luck with your decision.

You think it’s real? LOL All it does is have preset images that it recognizes, for instance your hand, arm, foot, etc. It recognizes that you’re pointing the camera at your foot and displays a generic xray of a foot matching the size of yours.

I would wait to buy one, they have some things to work out, including the AT&T EDGE 'G2' service, which is much slower than EDGE 'G3' service..!!! Also battery is not user replaceable, among other issues…

My money is on the x-ray app being a vid of an x-rayed hand and to make it look real you have to follow the image.
x-ray app = gullible!

Yes and it's free. But you need to upgrade your firmware to 2.0 buy plugging in your phone and opening up iTunes and click UPGRADE. It should back up your information and in about 15 minutes you will have the 2.0 and Application store as an icon on your iphone home screen.

Nobody really knows what the new iPhone will have. Apple hasn't released any specs on updates nor when new version will be released. My personal opinion is they will change size of the hard drive and might add those features such as ichat.
With the current version you can chat with people on MSN, Yahoo, Yabber. Simply go to Meebo.com with your iPhone.
I'm sure the old iPhone will have the same features available via an software update. If you are looking to buy one I would suggest getting a unlocked version. (http://www.macvortex.com had some good deals a while ago) With an unlocked iPhone you can choose the carrier of your choice. Works for me. Good luck.

the iPhone is only available from AT&T… no phone from AT&T will work with Verizon. If you want a Verizon form of the iPhone go with the Voyager. Go to MacWorld.com to read reviews on the iPhone, its to much to write

i think its a software.yep its a software

That’s nice… But a couple things. A: You didn’t just buy that, because originally, Apple didn’t have the app store. And B: You jailbroke it with a customized firmware, which changed all the apps. OR you video-edited. =

The iPhone is the best phone on the market. At this time it comes in one specific color with two sizes, an 8 gb and 16 gb version. As for the person that states it breaks easy that is far from the truth. I have a launch day phone and have zero scratches on the durable glass surface. There are companies like decalgirl.com that have some very interesting and cool skins to customize and protect the phone if you felt it was needed.
