if you want to communicate to people you have to be following them and they have to be following you.

also if you talk to a person the confersation automatically appears on your profile.

just go to a celebs twitter and ull see how it works jsut by looking at it.

i personally think its just stupid because thers no way u can get talk to celebs because alot of celebs only follow celebs.(not that twitter is stupid jsut if your using it to communicate with celebs twitter is pointless)

I agree. The fact that social networking sites seem to be spilling into professional sports now is pathetic. The fact that players seem to want to use them while playing, is even more pathetic. I think players should only be allowed to use Twitter if it is for a good cause such as charity, or in the offseason. Shaq is one example of a guy that has used Twitter appropriately as he isn't in the middle of a basketball game with a blackberry in his hand. NFL players seem to think that they can do what they want. The commissioner needs to step in, it's that simple.

Twitter is just another social site like Facebook. While Twitter is kind of like a status updater, it can be used for MANY other things. You can have conversations with people (Like an IM). You can promote your website, blog, band or whatever. You can connect it to a lot of other sites online so that you can update your followers of whatever you do on that site. Twitter is a whole other world. So if you want to connect & meet new people, you should definitely get a Twitter account as well.

I have no idea ... and the last part with saying "hi" ... it doesn't seem right or fair to me ... i mean ... it seems like their lives are revolving around the internet -virtual world - ... and ... that's not right ... at least not in my point of view.
So ... I don't give a tweet about twitter!

Please explain to me why Twitter is so popular? In the dialup days you had dial in BBS (Bulletn Board Systems). In 1988 some guys started networking their boards all over the world and one could just phone in and let everyone know what was up. Then the internet became mainstream in the early-mid 90s and more and more forums showedup up which led to message programs like MSN or AIM. This seems a step back to me in the i-net evolution.
