Yes it can pay Flash (It has flash player 10.1)

And yes it can play MP4

Both the Nexus's hardware and software are superior to the IPhone so It certainly is 'up to par'

The Nexus only comes with a 4gb flash card… though unlike the iphone you can upgrade this to a higher capacity if you wish.

I dont like the idea of being tied with ITunes by apple… the Nexus is much more open in comparison.
As a point of interest I read that the music you download from ITunes (which is full of DRM) isn't actually yours!… you are just buying a licence!

Nexus One and more specifically Android is excellent, you wont be disappointed.

The iphone is in a weight class by itself.. ( I was anti-iphone until i actually got me one.) I have had the g1 and the mytouch so the nexus one it gonna be the same. When you root them everything is choppy and lags.. Not to mention there is nothing on any that can offer what cydia can. However these are nice phone iphone is the best right now

There is a Ringdroid app that I believe you can pay for and one that is free. Just go in the market and look for it. Most apps are free in the market.

Well, from the Article that i have read, Google Nexus One was launched to battle the present smarthphones of Blackbery and Iphones. They claim that Nexus One and it uses the Android open source mobile operating system.The device is manufactured by Taiwan's HTC Corporation, and became available on January 5, 2010.Features of the phone include the ability to transcribe voice to text, noise canceling dual microphones, and voice directions while driving.

The phone comes unlocked and is not restricted to any particular mobile network provider unlike Blackberry and Iphonew which you have to Jailbreak it to accept other sims. Google currently offers it for use on the T-Mobile network in the United States; a version for use on the Verizon (US) and Vodafone (European) networks is expected in the second calendar quarter of 2010

I've just ordered one in Texas. They've charged me a total of $572.64, including 8.25% Texas sales tax ($43.64). In hindsight I guess it's not surprising Google has a presence somewhere in Texas, so has to pay the tax. But it still came as a shock when I read the confirmation e-mail – probably said it at check-out, but I didn't notice.

I'm pretty sure you don't have to but you won't get all you can from the phone without it. I had a Blackberry with them and didn't have data for a little while but it was much better with data. Here's a T-Mobile page that has their #s and other information if you want to call them or find out more.
